An Australian Rules Academy has been developed by AFL Champion and former Brisbane Lions Assistant Coach, Simon Black, to expose student-athletes to a wide AFL network of elite coaches and players.

Combining both technical Australian Rules football with University qualifications in business and sports development, the Academy provides the opportunity to harness students' potential within the sporting and business industries.

Problem

The Simon Black academy approached Facilitated Digital to improve their branding consistency and online presence. Through an update of both print and digital assets the academy aimed to increase engagement and conversion of prospective students.

Whilst the client wanted to maintain their logo and brand colours, they wanted to create a more compelling and consistent brand as the business scales.

Approach

Scope

Working with the client, we first identify the core brand values that we want to convey through our rebrand. From a customer centered approach, Facilitated Digital maps the customer journey to define brand touchpoints specific to the client.

Design

Our creative team then creates design concepts to visualise these defined brand values at each customer interaction.

Refine

After discussing available options our final concept is selected and refined through client feedback.

Execute

The final stage of our process sees the creation of design documents, development and testing of the website and project delivery.

Solution

Focussing on the core value proposition that the academy offers, the brand was rebuilt around a core call to action - 'Take your game to a new level'.

The brands aesthetic has been updated utilising the original brand colours, an oval shaped element linking to the AFL service and bold san-serif font.

Website

The website update utilises powerful action prompts to encourage prospective students to register for more information.

Through cleaning up the original content the new site allows for a smoother user experience and minimises barriers to registration.

Branding

In addition to the updated website, a rebrand of all business collateral and documents was undertaken.

As an education and training provider building trust and authority is crucial in the conversion of their students. A simple and clear display of information within a consistent format allows for a streamlined user experience.
